Successful Concert Feb 13

We had a great presentation of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time. Also on the program was a piece by local St Catharines composer Neva Tesolin called Miniatures in India.

A quote from an audience member about Neva's piece:

"Your pieces were beautiful. In my non-musician way I would say that they were an encyclopedia of emotions and nuances and intrigues and bellows of desires and questions and very much affirmed statements..lol sorry but they were sooo much."

Quartet for the End of Time - First Performance

We had a very successful first performance of the Quartet for the End of Time today at Music @ Noon at Brock University in the beautiful acoustics of the Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary. Next Society performance will be Sunday February 13 at 2:30 pm at the St Catharines United Mennonite Church at 335 Linwell Road (near the corner of Vine and Linwell). Tickets will be $20/$15 for students and are available at the door. Also on the program :
Prayer by Bloch and Miniatures in India by local St Catharines composer Neva Tesolin.

Miniatures in India is an evocative work inspired by Neva's studies in India. She arrived there during a religious festival in which the city was strung with fireworks which could go off around you at any time and she beautifully captures the feeling of religious fervour accompanied by explosions in Prayers Ignite. Temple Incense captures the mood of being in a shrine and the River Pamba gives a wonderful mood of the sacred river.

Don't miss this exciting concert!
